The Welltec® Wellgrab CLAW comprises a range of surface-controlled precision fishing tools designed to optimize the recovery of objects with non-confirming profiles, such as bird-nested wire or dislodged components.
Configurations include 1-, 2-, 3-, 5-, and 6-finger tools that perform a pincer-like action on the target, converging to securely clamp the fish and recover it back to the surface. This action can be automated and is fully repeatable, with real-time data informing the operator of progress and the expansion position of the tool

Featured case
The Wellgrab™ CLAW showcased its adaptability in a challenging North Sea fishing operation, providing live measurement readings to confirm successful latching by corresponding to the outer diameter of lightweight, tightly curled cable. Deployed via the Well Tractor®, the CLAW confirmed engagement through force signatures and accelerometer data, with the operation completed in three planned runs. The intervention restored production after four months of downtime and eliminated the need for a costly workover.
