High-temp geothermal wells

At the extreme/top end of the scale/When demands are extreme, the Welltec® Magma Packer (WMP) is the only all-metal expandable packer on the market qualified to withstand extreme geothermal conditions above 330°C, delivering long-term annular integrity against the most demanding conditions.  

Furthermore, our broad portfolio of completion solutions – including the Welltec® Annular Barrier (WAB®), and the Welltec® Light Packer (WLP) – is designed to provide zonal isolation, cement assurance, and reservoir compartmentalization, across the operating temperature range of geothermal wells.

Evolved from this industry-leading range of metal expandable packer solutions, the Welltec Expandable Anchor represents the only all-metal liner hanger system available, engineered for high load-bearing capacity, and thermal resilience. 

Welltec® Flow Valves (WFV™) complete a flow control system for large bores with no internal restrictions, providing effective injection/production control in geothermal wells.

Low-temp geothermal wells

Our broad portfolio of intervention solutions supports efficient scale removal and cleanout in mid- to low-temperature wells (up to 150°C), as well as quenched high-temperature wells – all with minimal environmental impact through e-line deployment. With over 30 years of experience in scale removal from oil and gas wells, Welltec® brings proven expertise to geothermal operations, restoring flow and optimizing production. 

Silica and calcite buildup is a common challenge in geothermal wells, driven by reservoir variability and thermodynamic shifts over time. E-line conveyed technologies like the Well Miller® offer a rigless, low-footprint alternative using a truck-mounted winch and crane – ideal even for interventions in urban environments.
